Slider Design, Triple Cameras:
Just like the standard Honor Magic 2, the Magic 2 3D comes with a slider design that helps eliminate the need of a notched display. Since the entire rear panel slides up, the additional space is used to conceal three sensors. For selfies, we have a 16MP camera accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor. The third sensor is a 3D TOF camera that is used for more accurate and secure 3D Face Unlock functionality. Despite the slider design, the phone comes with an IPX2 rating for water and dust resistance. On the other hand, a triple camera setup can also be found on the back of this phone. The first of these is a standard 16MP sensor, the second is a wide-angle 16MP camera, and the third is a 24MP monochrome sensor. This setup uses AIS for image stabilization.
AMOLED Screen, HiSilicon Kirin 890 Chipset:
The display on the Magic 2 3D remains unchanged when compared to its standard variant. We have a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with a Full HD+ resolution and a pixel density of 403 ppi. This screen is nearly bezel-less and boasts a screen to body ratio of 91.5 percent. Besides the new 3D sensor of face unlock, the phone also offers an in-display fingerprint scanner for secure access. Powering this entire package is a HiSilicon Kirin 980 processor with two 2.6GHz of Cortex-A76 cores and four 1.8GHz of Cortex-A55 cores. Memory on this handset is comprised of am 8GB RAM + 512GB storage setup. Out of the box, the phone runs Android 9.0 Pie with Magic UI 2.0 on top.
40W Magic Charge, Connectivity options:
The Magic 2 3D makes use of a 3500mAh battery that supports the brand s proprietary 40W Magic Charge fast charging technology. This feature is said to be capable of charging the entire battery in just 55 minutes. As for connectivity, the phone offer support for 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, USB Type-C port, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.0, and NFC. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on this phone, but it does offer a USB Type-C to 3.5mm jack dongle in the box.
